How to Clean your Jewellery at Home

We wanted to share a little bit of advice to help everybody stay clean at home. We’re going to show you an easy way to clean your jewellery at home, all you need is a toothbrush, washing up liquid, warm water, and a cloth (preferably lint-free).

There are powerful, beautiful motivations behind wearing jewellery. It acts as armour, something solid to hold when we’re anxious to steady ourselves. Touching a pendant or wedding ring can bring comfort in a time we’re distanced from loved ones, like now.

It’s important to note, the government has given advice not to wear jewellery at the moment for hygiene reasons, so it’s a good idea to clean your collection now. Watch the video or read the step-by-step guide so you can clean your jewellery, at home.
What you need:
  • Toothbrush
  • Washing up liquid
  • Warm water
  • Cloth (preferably lint-free)

Step 1. Make the cleaning solution

Mix a drop of fairy liquid with a small dish of warm water, we use a little Tupperware pot.

Step 2. Clean the jewellery

Wet the toothbrush and gently scrub around the piece, ensuring you get into all the curves and engravings.

Step 3. Dry the jewellery

Pat-dry using a lint-free cloth if you have it, but you can improvise.

And voila! Clean jewellery!

We’re all facing our own challenges right now, and although we’re inside, we’re still together.
