Pre-owned Rolex Watches
When thinking of luxury watch brands, the Rolex name will always be on the tip of your tongue. Founded in 1905 in London, founder Hans Wilsdorf began pursuing his dream to create not only elegantly designed wristwatches, but precise ones. Since moving their operations to Geneva in 1919, Rolex has consistently pursued innovation and the highest excellence for their timepieces. In 1926, the company created the world’s first waterproof watch, the Rolex Oyster. This was proven on the wrist of swimmer Mercedes Gleitze when she conquered a 10 hour swim across the English channel, with the watch remaining in perfect working condition.
As time went by, Rolex models have become more and more advanced through technological innovation and human exploration. With models such as the Oyster Perpetual Explorer launched in 1953 to celebrate the climb of Mount Everest and the Submariner being the first diver’s watch to have a water resistance of 100 metres. Even in modern society, Rolex continues to impress the world with their watches, when filmmaker James Cameron, wearing a Rolex Deep Sea, plunged to the depths of the Mariana Trench in the first solo voyage in history back in 2012. The watch certified a water resistance of up to 12,000 metres, setting the record for a diver’s watch. These incredible achievements have helped Rolex cement themselves as one of the forever greats in watch making, amongst one of the most recognisable brands on the planet.
